The challenge
Sunpeak sells rooftop solar, battery storage, backup power and solar water heating to homeowners and businesses in Kenya. The site had to explain those options to non-technical visitors and turn interest into consultation requests, while feeling premium and technical rather than like a generic green-energy template.
Because Sunpeak is fictional, there was a firm rule: no invented proof. No fake reviews, client logos, certifications, installation counts or savings claims. Most solar sites lean on exactly those things, so this one had to build trust through clarity instead.
The approach
Every primary page opens on a full-bleed photographic header, backed by a small image system: per-photo focal points, header-specific framing and one shared header component, so 16 different photos all crop well at every size.
The savings calculator keeps its formulas in a separate, unit-tested module. A "Show the working" panel puts the visitor's own figures into each formula, and when the inputs can't produce an honest payback period, it says so instead of showing a misleading number.
The quote and contact forms validate in the browser and again on the server, accept Kenyan phone formats, and post to a webhook or CRM. With no webhook configured they run in a clearly labelled demo mode, and nothing is presented as sent.

The result
- Prerendered pages, plus a 404
- 24
- Unit tests on the calculator and form logic
- 26
- Automated browser checks, run against the live site
- ~30
