The challenge
Furniture is a considered purchase. People want to see how a piece looks in a real room, compare options and come back later before they spend, so a furniture store has to feel closer to a showroom than a catalogue.
Behind the shop, the business needs one place to run everything that happens after a customer clicks "buy": products, categories, orders, customers and the reviews they leave.
The approach
The storefront is designed like an editorial showroom: full-width photography, a serif wordmark, and a "Shop by Room" journey and inspiration page that help people imagine a piece at home before they look at prices.
Customers can browse the shop, open detailed product pages, and save pieces to a wishlist or cart that's kept between visits. Accounts hold their orders and details. Checkout runs in a clearly labelled demo mode, taking a card form without processing any real payment, so a payment provider such as M-Pesa can be connected without redesigning the flow.
An admin dashboard covers products, categories, orders, customers and reviews. The frontend is a React single-page app built with Vite, talking to a Laravel API that uses Sanctum for secure, session-based sign-in.
The result
- Admin areas: products, categories, orders, customers and reviews
